Boston's Adult Venues Run in Chinatown and the Outer Edges
Boston's historic adult-entertainment zone — the old Combat Zone on Washington and Essex in the '70s and '80s — has been mostly redeveloped into Tufts Medical Center and Chinatown expansion. What remains is smaller: the Glass Slipper is the oldest surviving strip club in the city, Centerfolds continues to operate, and a handful of rooms run on the outer edges.
Massachusetts law permits topless-with-alcohol under strict licensing. Boston's licensing commission is conservative and the remaining clubs are the ones that maintained compliance through the Combat Zone's long wind-down.
The nearest larger cluster is over the border in New Hampshire, which has a different regulatory environment — about an hour's drive for a deliberate evening.
