Florence and the Machine Bring Everybody Scream Tour to TD Garden
Boston's spring concert calendar has its spotlight night this month. Florence and the Machine play TD Garden on April 19 as part of the Everybody Scream Tour, with support from Irish singer-songwriter CMAT. The Patriots' Day weekend booking means the band plays the night before the Boston Marathon — the city is unusually packed, and TD Garden was the logical room for a show this size.
Florence Welch's live performances have become some of the most theatrical in modern pop — barefoot, whirling, in long chiffon, walking into the crowd mid-song. Recent dates on the tour have drawn on both Lungs-era classics and new material, with extended versions of "Shake It Out" and "Never Let Me Go" pushing past their studio runtimes.
If you're going: TD Garden sits atop North Station, a short walk from most downtown hotels. Doors open 90 minutes before showtime. Allow extra time getting in — Marathon weekend traffic is the heaviest Boston sees all year.
